Along with our Season 6 Regular Classes for adult dancers, we have a few special sessions for younger movers. Our DAS Stars class is BRAND NEW class offered for children to engage in safe and inclusive movement! Read more below:
DAS Stars is a movement class for kids aged 5-15 in FLS and similar programs. This class is designed to get kids of all abilities moving in a group setting, and will help with encouraging sharing, making choices, listen and responding, wait time, turn taking as well as building friendships in a fun and safe environment.
The STARS class was designed by Kylie, who has 8+ years of experience working in specialized school programs within the city. She has been a dancer with Dance Alive Studios off and on since 2008, and has recently become a new member of the staff! Her growing passion for dance combined with her professional experience drove her to see a need in the community for an inclusive movement class. From this need, she created Stars!
The structure of the class with include a warm up, skill work, movement game, listener response activity, dance party and cool down. If your child typically needs 1-1 supports, a family member or caregiver is welcome to be in the class and is included under their child’s registration. Any additional family members are welcome to join as a separate registered participant.
If your child can have aggressive behaviours towards others (grabbing, biting, pinching, etc), please ensure that a family member or caregiver is with them at all times to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the class.
DAS Stars classes will be held in 4-Week or 6-Week Sessions (currently unscheduled):

- Drop-In Classes require 3 days notice via email for DAS Stars to allow administrative processing time and teacher preparation.
- Session Registration payments are not subject to any refunds if participants miss a class.
- DAS Stars Classes are subject to cancellation for attendance of below 5 people. You will be notified as soon as possible if enrollment is low and the class is cancelled.
We are currently only taking names on a waitlist for our DAS Stars program! If you want your name on the waitlist, simply send us an email and we’ll get your name on the list!
When the session is live, the link for registration will be included below. There are extra questions included in the registration form to help our teachers best prepare for your class! Once your registration has been confirmed, we will send a studio tour and a class welcome video so that you’ll be able to watch it together and prepare for the upcoming class. If there are any damages to items during the class, it will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to repair or replace the items. Based on the number of registrations that we receive, we may divide the class into two, but we will keep you informed.
