Ballet exam training with Dance Alive Studios is offered through the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus under the supervision of Madame Juliette Perrey-Perez. Caelia provides exam training on a privately scheduled basis, as coaching supplements to independent home study and studio rentals. If you are interested in training for an RAD exam with Dance Alive Studios, please consider the following:
- RAD exam training is offered under Caelia with exam entrance approved of and supported by Madame Juliette Perrey-Perez. Exams will likely need to be held at another location, as we simply don’t often have the amount of candidates required to host our own exams.
- Home study is required. There is an app produced by the RAD with music and videos of exercises that students are expected to learn and review on their own time. Exercises will be taught once or twice in class with the teacher, and not reviewed again.
- Students are expected to create their own training schedule. They are expected to rent the studio for dedicated practice of elements trained with the teachers. Privates with a teacher may be booked regularly as schedules allow (prices below).
- Students are welcome to take exam classes at other studios to help supplement their training, but that will be at their own cost.
- Extra costs are associated with actually performing an exam, including $170 exam entrance fee for Inter Found/Intermediate, or beyond $300 for Advanced levels. Fees are also charged for mock exams and extra classes with a live pianist, as well as necessary exam attire.
- Students are welcome to engage in exam training without actually performing the exam, but the same work ethic and progress is expected regardless of goal. This is an intensive training option and is not at all necessary to develop proficiency in Ballet, but there is a lot of value in training this way if you like the challenge and structure. Exam training must be student-led and student-centred – we will meet you where you’re at!
Prices for Private Lessons
All students engaged in Exam Training must maintain DAS Membership (automatic for those already enrolled in Monthly Payments in other group classes). Private lessons with Caelia are priced at our regular Private Lesson levels for DAS Members:

Classes will be scheduled and charged at the beginning of the month. Once Exam Training starts for a group, no new students will be included. Group training schedules are determined by interest and change every season. Contact us to find out more!
